Categories can be added or edited through file uploading. You can start by downloading a sample CSV file or exporting existing categories list as a CSV file. Column names in the file are the same as Field names in add category screen.
|Category name||Name of the new category that would be displayed in POS and back-office|
|Sort order||Categories are ordered in POS order taking screen according to this order (from small sort order to bigger)|
|Hide in POS terminal||If checked this category won't be shown in POS order taking screen, but will be shown in all back-office reports. Values: yes/no|
|Color||Categories are displayed in this color in POS order taking screen. Values: Hex Code|
Start from Downloading a Sample CSV File
Categories Screen -> Click Upload From File button -> Download Sample File -> Fill in Details -> Upload File

Start from Exporting Current Categories List
Categories Export -> Export data as CSV -> Add/Edit Categories in File -> Categories Screen -> Click Upload From File button -> Select previous file -> Upload
Export current categories to CSV:
CSV file is uploaded following the same process as above.
Categories are identified using category name. So, category name can't be edited. If the category name is edited a new category will be created with the new name once the file is uploaded. Old category will also remain since the system considers it as a category which is not edited from the file upload.
