Connect Barcode Scanners

Barcode scanners are plug and play devices. So there are no system configurations for connecting barcode scanners to POS terminals or computers.

A bluetooth barcode scanner has to be first paired to the android terminal as a bluetooth device. A USB barcode scanner just needs to be plugged in to the POS terminal or tablet. If the POS terminal is a tablet or a phone, then a USB barcode scanner should be connected via a USB OTG cable or connector.

Usually barcode scanners can be configured into different modes and such configuration is done through scanning a sequence of barcodes given in the barcode scanner users’ manual.

For the barcode scanner to work in POS sales, it should be configured to send a carriage return key at the end of a barcode which is being read. So, this configuration should be located in the barcode scanner user’s manual and followed.
